CenterPiece Cakes, is the solo adventure of cake artist, Marcia Puri. Since the age of nine, while living near Chicago, Marcia made cakes and experimented in the kitchen, always looking for different ways to do things. Her first love, however, was always art, and after earning a bachelor's degree in education, with a minor in art, she taught classes and worked in the field of textile and clothes design, and later took up sculpture.

In 2003, after watching a program about a famous New York cake artist, Marcia knew immediately this was the business for her. After studying cake design in Toronto and Chicago, she started CenterPiece Cakes in 2004, where she now creates sculptures using butter, sugar and flour.

Marcia's cakes have been featured in local newspapers as well as national and international magazines. They have also been on display at the famed Water Tower Place in Chicago.
